Here's a TIP!

If you're a new teacher:

TIP provides the needed support to make your transition into a seasoned professional easier. The TIP coordinator will make on-site visits to help individuals who may want assistance in trouble-shooting problem areas. Through a collaborative effort with mentors, administrators, and faculty, the TIP coordinator can reinforce positive teaching and provide insight on ways to further improve your teaching techniques.

If you hire or work with new teachers:

The goal of anyone hiring or working with new teachers is to keep them enthusiastic and effective and retain those teachers who are contributing to the system. TIP can help you do just that.
Support of individual teachers can be conducted at your school site in the SEGA P-16 area. Induction workshops may also be conducted at your school.

Here are some tips about TIP!
The Teacher Induction Program is a resource for new teachers from Armstrong Atlantic State University, Savannah State University Collaborative Teacher Program, the Coastal Georgia Community College Teacher Program, Georgia Teacher Alternative Preparation Program (GTAPP) at AASU. Since 1995, TIP has been a resource for new teachers, and the schools that hire them, as they jointly meet the challenges of the first year of teaching.

TIP provides for new teachers and/or their mentors:

  • individual guidance and coaching
  • workshops
  • consultations
