  • Won 1999-2001 US Dept. of Ed. Teacher Quality grant to replicate Pathways model in 3 rural counties

  • Featured on the Osgood Files, CBS Radio 6/23/98

  • Winner 1998 Georgia Regents Teaching Excellence Award for Programs 2/23/98

  • Featured on "ABC-TV World News Tonight with Peter Jennings" 12/30/97

  • Featured on National Public Radio's "Morning Edition" with David Molpus 5/30/97

  • Featured in a 30-minute NEA documentary "The Drive to Teach" aired on The Learning Channel 11 /06/96

  • Fifty five Scholars (out of 59)passed the Georgia Teacher Certification Test (95% pass rate) 1993-1998

  • One of the "Five Best Practices for Retention" in University System cited by the GA Board of Regents

  • Winner of 1997 Innovations in American Government Award, Harvard University and the Ford Foundation
  •  In August, 1997 the Program received a $45,000 grant from the local public schools to pay health benefits for Scholars who must take a leave to complete their student teaching assignment.

  • October 31, 1997 Director Dandy and Scholar Elijah West testified before the U.S. House of Representatives, Government Reform and Oversight Committee.

  • The Program's Director is Winner of Georgia 2002 Professor of the Year by Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and Council for the Advancement and Support of Education.
