Program Awards
and Accomplishments
- Scholar LETHA MOORE won the
2000 Phi Delta Kappa International Excellence in Student Teaching
Award.
- Scholar JANNIS GLOVER won
1998 Sallie Mae First Class Teacher for Chatham County.
- Scholar W. J. STEWART won
1998 Support Person of the Year for Chatham County.
- Sixteen Scholars have won
their school's nomination for Sallie Mae First Class Teacher
Award.
- Two male Scholars have been
nominated for their school's Teacher of the Year Award.
- Under a grant from Breadloaf
School of English JANNIS GLOVER studied in Oxford, England, and
earned a Masters of Arts Degree from Lincoln College Oxford.
- Four Scholars teach at one
of the local universities (Armstrong Atlantic State University,
Savannah State University, or South University).
- Twenty two (30%) Scholars
have earned master of education degrees; four are pursuing a
doctorate.
- Seven Scholars have earned
certification to mentor student teachers.
- Seven Scholars have earned
the statewide Georgia Reading Endorsement.
- Twenty-six (37%) Scholars
have earned InTech (Computer) Certification.
