Information
One of the most important tasks you will perform in your university
years is developing a good working relationship with your
Health and Physical Education (HPE) advisor. When you apply
to the department , your assigned advisor will create a folder
for you. Students and advisors should discuss the following
items: pre-registration and advisement, course selection and
sequencing, standardized testing requirements and certification
benchmarks.
Steps to be followed:
- Declare Health and Physical Education on the individual
SHIP account
- Complete the Program/Departmental Information Sheet and
return to Departmental Secretary (Sports Center 211)
- Each student will be assigned a Departmental Advisor via
correspondence
- Contact the assigned Advisor to schedule an initial appointment
- Meet with the Advisor (by appoinement) at least once a
semester, particularly during the pre-advisement period
- An Advisement Hold can only be lifted once the student
has met with the advisor regarding registration
