Welcome to the
Department of Early Childhood Education
at Armstrong Atlantic State University
(AASU). As a comprehensive urban university,
AASU is committed to academic excellence
in the teaching and learning of all students.
The highest priority of AASU is to foster
abilities and values essential to the
development of the degree candidates into
knowledgeable, thoughtful, responsible,
and creative members of society. AASU's
College of Education has as its vision
the development of prepared, reflective
P-12 educators through a curriculum that
is designed to instill the highest qualities
of scholarship and professionalism, the
appropriate uses of technology, and genuine
respect for human diversity.
The
Department of Early Childhood Education
has as its philosophical foundation the
mission of AASU and the vision of the
College of Education and is accredited
by both NCATE and Georgia Professional
Standards Commission. The program is designed
to prepare P-5 education teachers who
demonstrate the highest qualities of character
and ethical behavior as well as the knowledge,
skills, and dispositions to enter the
educational and service communities as
a learner, collaborator, and mentor in
the learning process.
Student Awards
in the Department of Early Childhood Education
Two Awards are available to students
in the department, one for Excellence
in Leadership and another for Exemplary
Service. Students must see a faculty
member if you would like to be nominated.
Deadline for nominations to Ms. Marsha
Moore is Wednesday, February 6, 2008.
