PROFESSIONAL GOALS For the past five years, my goal of implementing information technology seamless into library science/library media courses has been modest, one course at aweb to see how other undergraduate library media programs were embracing technology. it is obvious that, if we are to respond to sweeping changes in information technologies and practices, our students need more technical expertise with electronic information and computer networks. I intend to use Faculty Support to help me make all my courses Web enhanced and to design a web page as an additional instructional tool. Goals: 1. Offer library science and library media courses as Web-enhanced using Web technology to support portfolio manuals. Not only will this move increase our campus enrollment, but will enable library support staff, who are presently working in public, academic, and public libraries to upgrade their skills, particularly in the area of information access and technology. 2. Continue to monitor trends in library education at the undergraduate level and workplace needs as reflected in library job advertisements and discussions. This will help us provide the knowledge that students will need to funcchanging information environment. 3. Continue to update and change course manuals. 4. Market the library media program more to students who want library media as a double major, and general studies majors who could use the library media minor as one of their areas of concentration.
