Welcome to the College of Education: Teacher Education Programs

The College of Education Student Handbook has been prepared to provide you with general information about the College of Education, its programs, and some of its policies and procedures. The handbook includes brief information about each of the departments in the College of Education as well as the transcript evaluation application process for the post-baccalaureate student and the application process for Admission to Candidacy for all students.

This handbook provides you with an overview of the processes for Admission to Candidacy to final certification for a clear, renewable certificate. The handbook along with the AASU catalog will provide you with a reference guide to assist you in answering many of the questions that might arise as you complete your program. Department requirements will vary; therefore, it is important to meet with an advisor each semester.

Checklists and a timeline are included to assist you in determining what is expected of you at the appropriate time in your program. Contact your department for specific department requirements or expectations. Department secretaries can be reached by telephone or via email.

The handbook (currently under review) will be in PDF format and can be viewed, printed, or saved in electronic format. You may download and install Adobe Acrobat Reader if you do not have it installed on your computer.
